## System Features

### Cabinet Mode

To be able to launch Pinball FX3 tables from RetroBat you must meet the following requirements:

* [x] Own a legit copy of Pinball FX3, downloaded on Steam.
* [x] Own a licence for at least one collection of tables.
* [x] Own a Personal Activation Code to enable Cabinet Mode.

{% hint style="info" %}
To get a Personal Activation Code you need to make a request to Zen Studios by fullfilling a form on their Website:\
<https://zenstudios.com/home/pinball-cabinet-support-request/>
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
More information about Cabinet Mode here:\
<https://www.pinballfx.com/?page_id=7754#end-anchor>
{% endhint %}

### Tables

Once you have the Cabinet Mode activated, you can copy the `.pxp` files of the Tables for which you own a licence in the :open\_file\_folder:`roms\`:open\_file\_folder:`pinballfx3` folder of your RetroBat installation. Then the Pinball FX3 system will appear when you navigate in the System View.

You will find the Tables `.pxp` files you need to copy in the folder of your Pinball FX3 installation.&#x20;

To easily find this location, just follow these steps:

* Open the Steam Client and select the Library tab.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="/files/nePB2uHYpS43XKV4tSIm" alt=""><figcaption><p>the library tab</p></figcaption></figure></div>

* Left-click in the search field at the top of your Steam games list and type `Pinball FX3`.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="/files/b2xjy5Q1A1hzxTT4BMvM" alt=""><figcaption><p>the search field after typing Pinball FX3</p></figcaption></figure></div>

* Right-click on Pinball FX3 listed now in the Steam Game List, then hover with the mouse pointer "Manage" and left-click on "Browse local files" when the game sub-menu appears. The File Explorer should open now the location of your Pinball FX3 installation.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="/files/OIA0jQJJ0kDViyfz0kOY" alt=""><figcaption><p>the game sub-menu</p></figcaption></figure></div>

<div align="left"><figure><img src="/files/Fs5elOgkyacmm6297zod" alt=""><figcaption><p>the Pinball FX3 installation folder</p></figcaption></figure></div>

* In Explorer, go in the :open\_file\_folder:`data\`:open\_file\_folder:`steam` folder to see all the Tables `.pxp` files. You can now select the Tables that you own a licence for and copy them in the :open\_file\_folder:`roms\`:open\_file\_folder:`pinballfx3` folder of your RetroBat installation.

{% hint style="info" %}
Even if all the Tables files exist, only the Tables for which you own a licence will play when you launch them in RetroBat.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://wiki.retrobat.org/systems-and-emulators/supported-game-systems/pinball/pinball-fx3.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
