# AI Translation Service

## Translation Service settings

This function can be used to translate screens from games that are written in a language you do not read in to your native language (e.g. Japanese to English).

Configuration can be done in the [Main Menu ](/navigation/main-menu.md)under **GAME SETTINGS** and **AI GAME TRANSLATION**.

<table><thead><tr><th width="290">Configuration Item</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Enable AI Translation Service</strong></td><td>Turn the translation feature ON or OFF</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Target Language</strong></td><td>Select the language you want to get the screens translated into</td></tr><tr><td><strong>AI Translation service URL</strong></td><td>Enter the translation service URL</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Pause on translated screen</strong></td><td>Select whether you want to keep the game going while the translation overlay is on or pause the game</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Translation Service URL

The service from [ztranslate.net](https://ztranslate.net/) can be used to translate games.

You will need to register on the website.

Once the Sign up finalized, go to Settings and retrieve you API key.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://wiki.retrobat.org/advanced-features/ai-translation-service.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
