Save states offer a way to take a snapshot of the current progress in a game in order to load the game in the exact state it was saved.
Save states do not offer a secure way of saving a game progress (no long-term solution), internal save mechanism offered by the games should be used in priority. Often, save states will break when an emulator is updated.
The following emulators offer save state functionality that is compatible with RetroBat:
Emulator | Remark |
---|---|
RetroArch | Most of the libretro cores are compatible |
BigPemu | |
BizHawk | |
Dolphin | |
Flycast | |
JGenesis | |
PCSX2 | |
DuckStation | |
OpenMSX | |
PPSSPP |
From the game list in RetroBat, hoghlight the game and press the button on your controller to display the savestate manager:
Select the save state to load and confirm to load the game.
Watchpoint: automatic loading of save state upon game launch is not yet possible, it is necessary to use the L2 + combo key after game launch to load the save state
